Adolph LawrencePahls, Jr. passed away on Monday, August 27th. He was born to Adolph and Catherine (Ketter) Pahls on March 13th, 1927. Jr. attended Tipton area schools and graduated from Tipton High School in 1945. He married Georgia Greif on October 21st, 1954, and was married for nearly 58 years. He worked for Farmway COOP for 42 years, primarily as Tankwagon Manager delivering gas and oil to Tipton area farmers. Preceding Jr. in death are his parents, brothers Casper and Wilfred Pahls, and sisters Genevieve Pahls, Margie Schmeidler, Marian Pestinger, and Mary Elizabeth Gerard .
Survivors include his wife, Georgia; sons Larry (Pattie) of Lees Summit, MO, Bob (Janet) of Salina, KS, Steve (Tina) of Kansas City, MO, Curtis (Karen) of Beloit, KS, and Mark (Angie) of Hays, KS; and daughters Mary Ellen Muninger (Sheldon) of Salina, KS, and Janice McMillan (Greg) of Randall, KS. Grandchildren are Brian (Diane) Pahls, Melissa Pahls, Ryan (Katie) Muninger, Alex Muninger, Chris (Amanda) Pahls, Katie (Chris) Lonergan, Matt Pahls, Nick Pahls, Derrick (Jami), Pahls, Dale Pahls, Danielle Pahls, Blake (Meghan) McMillan, Brock McMillan, Blair McMillan, Emily Pahls, Eric Pahls, Sam Pahls, Dylan Lang, Ben Pahls, Jacob Pahls, Elijah Pahls, and Samuel Pahls. Great-Grandchildren are Gavin Pahls, Kaden Pahls, and Noah Lonergan. He is also survived by three brothers Edward (Cecelia) and Jack (Gwen) of Tipton, Walter (Joan) of Salina, brother-in-law Al Schmeidler of Great Bend, and sister-in-law Mary Lou Pahls of Tipton.
A joint funeral mass with his wife Georgia, will be at 10 AM Saturday, September 1 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Tipton. Visitation will be from 11 AM - 3 PM Friday at the McDonald Funeral Home. A parish vigil service will be at 7 PM Friday at the Church. Per their wishes, the caskets will remain closed. Memorials may be given to Tipton Schools, Solomon Valley Hospice, or Solomon Valley Transportation.
