Aileen L. Spatz

Aileen Laverne Spatz was born on November 8, 1917 to Ernest and Myrtle Jones English on a farm near Beloit. She died on Monday, August 28, 2006 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit at the age of 88 years.
She grew up and attended the Fieldside District #27 Country School before graduating from Asherville High School in the Class of 1935.
Aileen married John E. Wilson on March 15, 1942. After John's death in 1981, she married Ben Spatz on September 15, 1984. He also preceded her in death in 2001.
She was a member of the Beloit First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, the VFW Auxiliary, and was a former member of the Solomon Valley Art Guild and the Solomon Valley Camera Club.
In addition to her husbands, Aileen was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dale English; and one step-grandson, Kirk Balthazor.
She is survived by two sisters, Eula Wilson of Bellflower, California and Vonna Nelson and her husband Harold of Assaria, Kansas; one brother, Virgil English and his wife Nancy of Beloit; two step-daughters, Cindy Balthazor and her husband Jim of Russell, Kansas, and Sheila Hein and her husband Don of Hoisington; three step-grandchildren, Teryn Balthazor, Shawn Hein, and Douglas Hein; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, August 31, at the Beloit United Methodist Church. Memorials may be given to the Wilson Scholarship Fund at the United Methodist Church or Solomon Valley Hospice. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the McDonald Funeral Home.
