Alvera Long

Alvera Margaret Long was born on October 30, 1933 in Leoville, Kansas, the daughter of Fred and Rosa Kaus Juenemann. She died on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 87.

On August 5, 1952, she was united in marriage with Francis "Sam" Long in the St. Francis Catholic Church in Norton. They were privileged to spend nearly 65 years of marriage together until he died in May, 2017.

In 1960, the family moved to Beloit, where they raised their family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to her husband Sam, she was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Bernard, Lawrence, and John.

She is survived by her children, Diana McConnell of Oregon City, Oregon, Edward and wife Lisa of Beloit, James and wife Denise of Downs, Arleen Alley of Delphos, Steven and wife Beverly of Osborne, and John and wife Jennifer of Eugene, Oregon; sisters, Rita Schwartz of Grinnell, Sister Rosalyn Juenemann of Concordia, Sister Carolyn Juenemann of Salina, Norbert Juenemann of Broomfield, Colorado, Gerald Juenemann of Selden, and Melvin Juenemann of Norton; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Family-only funeral services will be at 10 AM Friday, January 29 at St. John's Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM Thursday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Masses.
