Arlene Rarick, daughter of Milo and Gladys Railsback Manaugh was born April 2, 1919 in Ionia KS and passed away January 17, 2011 in Wheat Ridge, CO.
Arlene lived in Ionia, KS until the age of 7 when her family moved to Denver, CO. She graduated from South High School, Denver, CO June 3, 1937. Arlene married Dallas Ray Rarick June 16, 1937, Denver, CO. In 1940 they returned to Rose Hill Community of Mitchell County, KS. During their married life they lived in Westminister, CO, Brighton, CO, Durango, CO, Arvada, CO and returned to Glen Elder, KS in 1975.
Arlene worked many years as a drapery seamstress and homemaker. One of her drapery jobs was making the drapes for the Air Force Academy Chapel in Colorado Springs, CO in 1957. Her hobbies were bowling, handwork, cooking, and visiting with family often. She loved traveling with her husband and especially being with her children and grandchildren.
Arlene was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, Athens Community Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Glen Elder Methodist Church, and Glen Elder Senior Citizens.
She leaves to mourn her passing two sons and their wives, Bernard and Sandy Rarick of Arvada, CO, Sam and Joann Rarick of Rapid City, SD; three grandchildren with their families, Joseph (Stephanie) Rarick, son Zachary, (Kamille and daughter Avril) and son Jacob Rarick of Meridian, ID. Denise (Marc) Saba, Lakewood, CO. Karen (Tom) Carter and daughter Lauren, Arvada, CO. A niece Lisa (Joe) Peterson and family; a nephew Steven Rarick and numerous friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas in 1979, Father, Milo in 1951, Mother, Gladys in 1980, brother, Wayne Manaugh in 1971 and, great grandson Taylor Rarick in 2008.
Funeral services are at 2:00 PM Friday, January 21 at the McDonald Funeral Home followed by burial in Athens Cemetery near Glen Elder. Memorials may be given to Lutheran Hospice or the Joshua School.
