Arlene Spicher was born on October 16, 1929 to Clifford and Adeline Geisler Effland at Victor, Kansas and died at her home in Paola, KS on Tuesday, August 21, 2007.
Arlene attended Victor and Mt. Streeter grade schools and graduated from Hunter, KS high school in 1947.
Arlene married Neil Finney on June 4, 1950 and to this union, 3 children were born, Barbara, Deborah and Robert.
Neil died at 38 years of age in 1966 leaving Arlene to raise the three children.
Arlene married Leroy Spicher on May 4, 1977.
Arlene worked at the Mitchell County Hospital, Mitchell County ASCS office for many years before moving to Colorado Springs where she was a bank employee. Upon her return to Beloit, she was employed by Sunflower Manufacturing, and then managed the Beloit Country Club. When she and Leroy moved to Paola, KS, she was employed by Team Bank.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Adeline Effland, her first husband, Neil L. Finney, brothers Mervin Effland and George Effland, grand-daughter Neile Anne Gengler and sister-in-law Leola Effland.
Arlene is survived by her husband, Leroy Spicher of the home in Paola, KS, her daughters, Barbara Proctor and husband Dwight of Jasper, MO, Deborah Finney of Princeton, KS and son Robert A Finney and his fiancée Erica Williams of Beloit, KS, 3 grand-children, Amy Jo Gengler of Charleston, South Carolina, Jacob Meyer of Princeton, KS and Tanner Finney of Beloit, sisters- Thelma Jensen and husband Kenneth of Lincoln, KS, and Shirley Kolling and husband Darrel of Olathe, KS, several nieces and nephews, 4 step children , 10 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 25, at the Elmwood Cemetery in Beloit. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
