Ben A. Cooter was born on September 19, 1956 to Jim and Barbara Cooter in Salina, Kansas. He passed away July 19, 2023 after a short illness in Canton, Texas.
Ben graduated from Beloit High School in 1974 and remained close with many classmates and high school friends over the years.
After graduating from high school, he attended a gun smithing school in Trinidad, Colorado. He was a trap shooter for many years and received many awards.
After completing this training, he moved to Livermore, California to begin a career at Livermore Laboratory. After his Dad suffered a physical disability, he moved back to Beloit to assist his Mom with his Dad's care.
Ben opened the Fiesta Dish Warehouse in Canton, Texas 16 years ago and was still actively operating his store until his illness.
Ben was preceded in death by his father. He leaves his mother, Barbara, Canton, Texas, his cousins-Beth Schmidt (Warren), Hays, Kansas, Brenda Krone (John), and Brad Treaster (Chris), Beloit, Kansas along with many friends.
Graveside services to be held Monday, October 16th at 10 am with Kristi Arasmith presiding. Family and friends are invited to gather at The First Bank of Beloit Community Room following the service. Memorials may be given to the Beloit High School Trap Club.
