Beverly Ann Hake was born June 9, 1933 to Reuben and Lottie Dewey Isaacson at Holdrege, Nebraska. Her Heavenly release from a long illness came late Friday afternoon, November 27, 2009 at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, Kansas. She was 76 years, 5 months, and 18 days of age.

Beverly spent her early years in the Holdrege community where she graduated from high school.

On August 13, 1954, she married Neal "Rudy" Freeburg. They were the parents of Vicki, Teri, Randy, and Rex and lived in Alma, Nebraska. There, she was very active in the First Christian Church and worked as a secretary for the Don Calkins Law Office. Mr. Freeburg died in 1975.

On October 20, 1985, she married Melvin Hake and became the stepmother to his sons Timothy and Terry. She and Melvin made their home just north of Beloit, Kansas. While in Beloit, she worked at the TG&Y later McCroy store for about 10 years, and then worked as a clerk in the Mitchell County Treasurers Office until her retirement.

A kind hearted, people person, Beverly loved her family and her home. She was a master at crocheting, having crafted numerous afghans for her family. Beverly was a master seamstress as well and made beautiful pocket blankets and quilts. While in Alma, Beverly enjoyed playing golf with her friends. In addition, she was a cook extraordinaire and loved cooking, especially fried chicken and cookies while growing tomatoes and corn. Beverly was always there for Rudy during his illness.

She was a member of First Christian Church, Alma.

Her husband Rudy died in 1975. In addition, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Carol and Wayne Isaacson.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her husband Melvin of Beloit, children Vicki Freeburg, Mt. Vernon, Washington, Teri Freeburg, Kansas City, Missouri, Randy Freeburg and wife Margaret of Woodbridge, Virginia, Rex Freeburg and wife Barb of Hastings, Nebraska; two step sons Timothy Hake and wife Marilyn of Kansas City, Missouri, Terry Hake of Minneapolis-St.Paul, Minnesota, 3 grandchildren Jordan & Dylan Freeburg and Riley Fielder; step grandchildren Amanda, Megan, Kelsey and Austin Hake, Nora Huff, Kelly Holmes and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday at the McDonald Funeral Home with interment at 3:00 PM in the Alma Cemetery, Alma, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or the Mitchell Co. Regional Medical Foundation. Friends may call from 9AM-8PM Tuesday at the McDonald Funeral Home.
