Beverly Lavy

July 24, 1954 — January 18, 2018

Beverly Ann Lavy, daughter of Robert and Norma Jean (Warner) Sprague was born July 24, 1954 at Concordia Kansas.  She departed this life peacefully on January 18th, 2018 at Select Medical Hospital in Wichita at the age 63years, 5months, and 25 days.

Beverly grew up and graduated from Glasco High School in 1972.  She spent many years in Glasco, working at the café, and then in Beloit at Wicher's Photography, she moved to Hutchinson in 1993 where she worked as a debit collector, until she found a job that truly fit her heart, she started to work at Hutchinson High School in 1996, she was a para for the functional skills department and loved these children like her own, she not only worked in the classroom, but went into their homes to work with them.  They went on many field trips, but she really enjoyed taking them out to Reins of Hope for horseback riding.

Beverly was married to Lonnie Liby and to this union were born two children, Greg & Leanna, later this union dissolved.

She later married Lewis Lavy on July 30, 1994 and they made their home in Hutchinson Kansas.

In her younger years, Beverly played softball and earned a few broken ankles before she gave it up.  She enjoyed bowling and was very good at it, traveled all over enjoying herself. She loved the Kansas State Fair, and was known to go several times, with her students, looking at campers with her husband, and watching the grandchildren ride the rides, walking through the building with family and of course the food! She was a wonderful cook and an amazing artist, she had a special love for roses & horses.

Some of her favorite past times would be spent camping & fishing, either at local lakes or traveling to Texoma Lake.

But her pride and joy was traveling far and wide to spend time watching her grandchildren chase their many different dreams, she was proud of each and everyone of them, she always had their back.   Family was everything to her!

She is preceded in death by her father Robert D. Sprague & her mother Norma Jean Sprague

Beverly is survived by her loving husband, Lewis of the home, son Greg Liby & significant other Tara & his children Aubrey, Bailey, Wilder, two Step-children Kylie & Austin, daughter Leanna Porter and her husband Randy and their children Lonna, Chaz, Brandi.  Two step sons, Glenn Lavy & wife Sara, son Chase.
