William H. Weber was born October 2, 1943 to Joseph and Helen (Weigel) Weber in Hays, Kansas. He died suddenly on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at his home in Beloit at the age of 63 years, 3 months, and 4 days.
Bill and his family lived on a farm south of Beloit, and he attended the Georgia Country School before graduating from St. John's High School with the class of 1961. After high school, Bill attended a business class at the Beloit Vo-Tech, and spent four years with the National Guard. He worked for a time for Dr. George Chapman and at the Solomon Rapids Elevator for a short while. In 1968, he took a parts job at Salina Implement, and then in 1969, was offered a job as parts manager for James Blanding. After Blanding Implement closed, Bill went on to Carrico Implement for another 19 years of service selling parts.
Bill was married to Judy Shoemaker of Glen Elder on January 10, 1970 at the St. John's Catholic Church in Beloit. They are the parents of a daughter, Joni Leigh, and a son, Jeffery Dean.
Bill was a very loving, caring, and concerned husband, father, and grandpa (known as "Grandpa Bill"). He was proud of his two children, and very proud of his grandson, Griffin William, and his granddaughter, Emerson Lee. He was a lover of the outdoors, enjoying livestock and especially hunting deer and pheasant. Some of his best times were the opening of deer and pheasant season with his son Jeff. He and Judy enjoyed the trips to Chicago to see Joni as well.
Bill was always an energetic and caring parts man, who enjoyed seeing all of his farmer friends he waited on – always wanting them to get the best service. He missed his job very much when some health problems caused him to retire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Linus, LeRoy, and Donald.
Bill leaves behind his wife, Judy; his daughter, Joni Ackley of Aurora, Illinois; his son, Jeff and his wife Nikia and their two children, Griffin and Emerson of Troy, Kansas; two brothers, Marcellus and his wife Winnie, and Norman, all of Beloit; three sisters, Cecelia Hyman and her husband Dave of Hunter, Mildred Hyman of Beloit, and Dorinda Bourque of California; two sisters-in-law, Luella Weber and Carol Weber, both of Beloit; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
