Bradley G. Weidenhaft, 62, Glen Elder, KS, took his last motorcycle ride on Saturday, March 7, 2020. His family was with him as he rode towards his Heavenly home after a long, hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Brad was born July 22, 1957 in Beloit, KS to Billy Raymond Weidenhaft and Phyllis Taylor Weidenhaft.
Brad grew up in the Glen Elder area and attended school at Glen Elder elementary, junior and senior high schools. Brad graduated from Waconda East High School in 1975 after the Glen Elder and Cawker City schools consolidated.
During high school Brad worked as a CNA at the Mitchell County Hospital. He attended school at NCK Vo-Tech, Cloud County Community College, and Barton County Community College. His dream was to become an Air Ambulance Flight Nurse. Circumstances worked against him and he had to forgo that dream.
During college Brad met and married his first wife, Glenda Villanueva Szymanski, to whom two daughters, Lori and Amber, were born. Brad then married Michele Benson Holmes to whom a son and daughter, Levi and Andrea. were born.
In December of 2018 Brad finally married Eve Yacko Weidenhaft. Although they didn't have any children together, she brought her kids and grandkids along to complete the family. Brad and Eve were together for 7 years. Brad worked for Farmway Coop station in Cawker City where he ultimately met his future wife Eve while she was working there during her senior year of high school. It would be many years and 7 kids later that they would finally get together, thanks to two daughters trying to get them together, one daughter's car accident and one son's suggestions for Brad to text Eve after the accident.
Along with the Mitchell County Hospital Brad also worked at Farmway Coop Fertilizer, Etherly Construction, Farmway Coop Station Glen Elder, Treb Construction, Solomon Valley Transmission, Bob's Conoco, over 20 years with Beloit Motors as a Mechanic (Automobile nurse), and was employed with the City of Beloit in the Wastewater Operations Department at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry and granddaughter Camie Rae Ullom.
Survivors include his wife Eve, daughters Lori (Daniel) Firebaugh, Amber (John Witt) Ullom, Andrea (Aaron) Eberle, son Levi, bonus daughters Melissa (Nathaniel Edmonson) Hyman, Michaela (Dominic Stamps) Hyman, bonus son Matthew (Samantha Schneider) Hyman, grandchildren Treyton Croisant, Cohen Ullom, Maddox Firebaugh, Chance Ullom, Cayson Ullom, Conner Eberle, Jase Firebaugh, Cabe Eberle, bonus grandchildren Izabella Edmonson, Fenix Edmonson, brothers and their wives, as well as many extended family members and friends.
Graveside service will be August 1, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Glenwood Cemetery in Glen Elder, KS. Masks and social distancing are highly encouraged. Motorcycles are encouraged and welcomed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Solomon Valley Hospice, Breast Friends Foundation or Solomon Valley Transportation and may be mailed to Roberts Family Funeral Home, 910 N Campbell Ave, Beloit, KS 67420.
