Carrie L Jewell was born in Lincoln, Ks, Aug 2, 1923, the 3rd child of 12 to Charles P Jewell and Vaughn McCormick Jewell, and was called to our Lord on June 4th, 2010.
Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bill, Jim, Denny, Ray, John, Sisters Nellie Coloff , Katherine McGee, and her husband Matt.
She was married to Matthias William John Schroeder, Sr on June 4, 1954, living on the family farm in Tipton, then moving to Hunter, Ks after retiring from teaching.
Carrie graduated from Lincoln High School in 1941, received her teaching certificate and first taught in rural schools, K-12 in Tipton, and around Lincoln, Osborne, and Mitchell Co. Kansas. She received her Teaching Degree from Fort Hays State College in 1977, and began teaching in southwest Kansas and the rural schools of Nebraska. Teaching was the enjoyment of her life. She could be in any town, in any state, and run into a student that she had taught.
Survived by son, Matt Jr and his wife Deanna, Hunter, Ks; one daughter Lillian Schroeder & Dan Hyatt, Kansas City, Mo.; 5 grandchildren, Karma Lynn Kinser of Hunter, Michelle Lancaster and husband Roger of Manhattan, Brian Schroeder and wife Crystal of Great Bend, Jason Schroeder of Hoisington, and LeeRoy Winkel of Topeka; 6 great grandchildren; 1 brother Charles Jewell & wife Coleen, Mayetta, Ks, 3 Sisters; Vaughn Kreider & husband Richard, Horton, Ks, Ruth Ann Hittle & husband Junior, Carbondale, Ks, and Mildren Traphagen & family, Hoyt, Ks and many, many, nieces and nephews and their families.

It is the Lords wish to care for the elderly widows. Luke 7:3 His heart went out to her, Jesus compassion for his widows shows that God has a special love & care for those widows or for any person who is left alone in the world. They are under his special care and protection. Widows are recipients of Gods tender love and compassion.

EXODUS 22-23: Do not take advantage of a widow, if you do and they cry out to me, I will hear their cry, my anger will be aroused.
