Charlotte L. File

February 27, 1926 — June 1, 2009

Charlotte Lurene File was born February 27, 1926 to Everal Allen and Enstena Freda Diers Peavey at Beloit, Kansas. She departed this life of 83 years, 3 months, and 2 days Monday afternoon, June 1, 2009 at her home in Beloit.

A lifetime resident of Mitchell County, Charlotte grew up on a farm in the Victor community where she began her schooling. She attended the old Center school and then moved into Beloit in 1941 where she graduated from Beloit High School in the Class of 1946. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse, having graduated on October 10, 1950 from the National Schools Institute of Practical Nursing in Kansas City, Missouri. Charlotte practiced nursing until her marriage.

It was on October 26, 1952, that she married George Kenneth File at the First Christian Church in Beloit. Four children J.B., Connie, Ken, and Max were born to this union. They made their home on the File farmstead east of Beloit until moving into their present home in 1981.

Always pleasant, and cheerful, Charlotte had a unique zest for life. She loved her family, was always there for them and enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's activities. She loved cooking and will be long remembered for her fried chicken, meatloaf and chocolate cake with caramel frosting. She loved collecting Lennox and Franklin Mint treasures, and could be found reading, watching QVC or working on an embroidery project.

Charlotte was a faithful member of First Christian Church. There, she enjoyed volunteering for what ever needed to be done. She had a deep, abiding relationship with the Lord and enjoyed attending Bible Study groups.

Her parents and her husband George Kenneth File preceded her in death.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her children J.B. File and wife Chris of Beloit and their children Adam and Jaimy of Beloit, Jayme of Memphis, Tennessee, Kate of Beloit; Connie Williams and husband Steve of Concordia and their children Josh & Kylie Williams and their children Kenlee and Koehn of Colby, Jill Frazell and husband Clete of Chanute; Ken File and wife Sue of Fishers, Indiana, and their children Charlotte of Fishers, Indiana, Claire and Hannah of Fishers, Indiana; Max File and wife Verna of Roland, Oklahoma and their children Michael now serving in Iraq, and his children Aaron and Austin; Darren File of Norman, Oklahoma.
