Chloris J. Miller

February 20, 1938 — February 10, 2010

Chloris June Miller was born February 20, 1938 to Robert Nicholas and Katherine Marie Murphy Miller at Lincoln, Kansas. She departed this life of 71 years, 11 months, and 18 days Wednesday evening, February 10, 2010 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas.

"Molly", as everyone knew her, attended country school and then moved to Glasco where she graduated from Glasco High School in the Class of 1956. She attended Kansas State University for one semester.

On January 14, 1957, she enlisted in the United States Navy, and during the next thirteen years served in the medical division, worked with radio isotopes and received her honorable discharge on January 13, 1970 with the rank of Hospital Corpsman 1st Class.

After her military service, she made her home in Hope, Indiana and worked as a postal clerk at the Post Office in Columbus, Indiana. She enjoyed her work, made numerous friends and retired in 1992.Her health failed and she moved to Hilltop Lodge in Beloit in December, 2009 to be near her sister, Janice Sahlfeld.

A kind hearted, people loving person, Molly was always there for others. She loved sports and was an ardent follower of the KU Jayhawks basketball team along with just about any Big 12 team. Molly enjoyed music, having played the piano and the clarinet. She loved animals, especially dogs. Leisure moments were happiest spent tinkering with her stick-shift pickup. Perhaps above all, Molly enjoyed her nieces and great nephews.

Molly had a very quiet, but very deep abiding relationship with the Lord.

Her parents and one brother Jere Miller preceded her in death.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her sister Janice Sahlfeld and husband Robert of Beloit; nieces Kim Sahlfeld-Bunger of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Jeanette Rodenbaugh of Foxtown, Pennsylvania and Patricia Miller of Gering, Nebraska; three great nephews Cory, Cody, and Colby Bunger plus one enroute, and a host of many friends
