Mary Christine Berndt was born August 15, 1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Stephen and Catherine Mitchell Foytik. She passed away February 24, 2012 at the Lindsborg Community Hospital in Lindsborg, Kansas.
Chris graduated from Bridgeton High School in Bridgeton, New Jersey in 1969. She then attended and graduated from nursing school in Camden, New Jersey. After graduation, she went on to work as an RN at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita and Salina Regional Health Center (formerly Asbury Hospital).
On June 13, 1981, she was united in marriage to William Robert Berndt at the Wesley Hospital Chapel.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Catherine Foytik, and a brother, Steven Foytik.
She is survived by her husband Bill; children, Chandra Ackerman and husband Adam of Lindsborg, William Stephen Berndt of Kansas City, Missouri, and Brittany Berndt, also of Kansas City; her granddaughter, Amanda Ackerman of Lindsborg; a brother, Mike Foytik of Bridgeton; and a sister, Connie Elliott and husband Bill and daughter Madison of Smyrna, Delaware; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 28 at the Dean Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the McPherson Hospice.
