Clark D. Darnall

January 19, 1932 — December 19, 2013

Clark Dean Darnall was born January 19, 1932 to Wilbur and Emma Klein Darnall at Farnam, Nebraska. His Heavenly Release from a lengthy illness came Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas.

Clark grew up on the family farm in Frontier County, Nebraska. He graduated from Eustis High School and then was called to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

It was on June 25, 1955 that he married his high school sweetheart Marilyn Jean Fox. Three sons Scott, Mark, and Todd were born to this happy union.

At age fourteen, Clark began working for the Morrison-Gregg & Mitchell Grain Company, and on May 19, 1956 he and his wife Jean moved to Glasco where he managed the Morrison-Gregg & Mitchell grain elevator. During the next thirty-eight years, he enjoyed his role as manager, making many friends along the way. He retired in 1994.

A happy, community minded person, Clark was a pillar of the Glasco community, serving in a variety of capacities including the Nicol Home Board of Directors, UMB Bank, Glasco City Council, and the VFW Post.

Clark's greatest love though, was his home and family. He was never depressed, was an avid prankster and delighted in being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He looked forward to working in his yard where his flowers were always well cared for. Above all, he was truly a man of no regrets.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Glenn Darnall and wife Becky, and Bill Darnall.

Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life are his wife Jean of the home; sons Scott and wife Tammy of Glasco, Mark and wife Regina of Hays, Todd of Glasco; one brother Dale Darnall and wife Janice of Eustis, NE; one sister Bonnie Casper and husband Nick of Lexington, NE; one sister-in-law Norma Darnall of Farnam, NE; 9 grandchildren Daniel Darnall, Brandon Darnall, Eric Darnall, Austin Darnall, Kelsey Panter, Kayla Lange, Aubrey Darnall, Chelsi Darnall, Laura Darnall; 16 great grandchildren; many relatives and friends.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Mgsr James Hake and Father George Kalampatt at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 23, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Glasco Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church, The Nicol Home or The Corner Store.
