Cleora Pearl Scheetz was born February 20, 1931 to Floyd William and Lula Beatrice Diller Tegethoff at Washington, Kansas. She departed this life of 75 years late Sunday evening, March 19, 2006 at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, Kansas.
Celora spent her childhood years in Washington where she graduated from high school. She taught school for a few years at rural schools in Washington County before her marriage.
On May 14, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert Leroy Scheetz at Washington. Two daughters Gloria and Cynthia were born to this union. They lived in Washington where she worked in the Washington County Treasurers Office. In 1973, she and Robert made their home in Glasco where she worked in the Glasco School System. Mr. Scheetz died in 1998.
Always a good listener and quick to offer advice and wisdom, Cleora cherished her family and friends. Having her grandchildren and great grandchildren around was always a highlight for her. She was always there for her family and enjoyed cooking her delicious crème and butterscotch pies for them. Cleora was a true people person at heart and loved the fellowship of her friends at the Glasco Coffee Girls Club where she caught up on the very latest. and she was always eager for a game of cards. When not with family or friends, she loved reading, working crossword puzzles, and doing various embroidery projects.
She attended the Glasco Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband, Cleora was preceded in death by her parents.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her daughters Gloria Comfort and husband Rick of Delphos, Cynthia Diehl and husband Kenlee of Shawnee, Kansas; two grandchildren Toree Foulk and Todd Diehl; two great grandchildren Zane Foulk and Logan Foulk; two brothers Forrest Tegethoff and wife Roine of Washington, Laverne Tegethoff and wife Allece of McPherson, Kansas; two sisters Shirley Truhlicka and husband Willis of Barnes, Kansas; Leona Kalous of Topeka. In addition, she will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 24, 2006 at the Dean Funeral Home in Glasco with Pastor John Rink officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. in the Washington City Cemtery at Washington, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Cloud County Health Center or the Salina Regional Health Center Critical Care Unit. Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Dean Funeral Home.
