Cyndi Johnson, 81, Beloit, went peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Mitchell County Resident Care Center.
Born July 8, 1937 in Sabetha, Kansas, she was the youngest child of Harold Dallas and Daisy Pearl Rawlings; and sister of Charlene (Rawlings) Watson.
She attended Rogers Elementary School and graduated from Beloit Jr-Sr High School in 1955. Cynthia progressed with her education by attending St. Francis School of Nursing in Wichita; where she met her husband Rollin Dale Johnson. After becoming an RN, she briefly worked at Saint Francis Hospital as a charge nurse. Then she returned to Beloit and held several positions at the Mitchell County Hospital (Staff Nurse, Director of Nurses, Director of LTCU and Educational Coordinator). She also worked for Dr's R.E. Bennett, H.L. Collins and R.A. Dobratz as an office nurse.
Cynthia had several professional affiliations: Kansas Association of Hospital Education Coordinators, American Diabetes Association Educator, Regional Advisory Council and Task Force on Continuing Education for Nurses in Kansas. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Beta Sigma Phi and was a charter member of the Beloit Allegro Music Club.
Cyndi was a compassionate, caring and always ready to help others. Her greatest joys were her three children, roller skating and bowling in her younger days, and nursing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollin Dale Johnson; son, Jayme Alan Johnson; parents Harold and Daisy (Lancaster) Rawlings; maternal grandparents Lewis and Nellie Lancaster and paternal grandparents Ed and Edna Rawlings.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life is her sister, Charlene Watson of Barnard, Kansas; her two daughters, Julie Johnson of McKinney Texas and Janet Lippert and husband Tony, granddaughter Nicola Lippert Cyr, husband Ryan Cyr, great grandson Ezra Cyr of Manhattan Kansas and grandson Nathan Lippert of Eau Clair Wisconsin, along with a host of many cousins and friends.
As per wishes of the deceased, cremation has taken place. A visitation service will be held 4pm – 5pm Saturday evening January 5, 2019 with the Memorial service to follow at 5pm, both at the First Presbyterian Church, 321 E. Main in Beloit. Pastor Deb Hadachek will officiate. Please honor us by attending and sharing your memories in celebration of Cyndi's life.
