Dale O. Twaddell

March 29, 1945 — February 7, 2017

Dale Oren Twaddell was born March 29, 1945 in the old Beloit Community Hospital to Harman Iles and Myrtle Grace Yocum Twaddell. He entered into the eternal rest of His Lord and Savior unexpectedly Tuesday evening, February 7, 2017 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas.

A 1963 graduate of Beloit High School, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education from Kansas State University in 1968.

It was on September 2, 1966 that he married Ladeanna Lee Landes at the Gregory Boulevard Church of Christ in Raytown, Missouri. Two children Doug and Tanya were born to this happy union.

After graduation from KSU, Dale taught high school agricultural classes for five years in the Randolph-Blue Valley and Phillipsburg school districts. After accepting a position with Farmland Industries, he moved his family to Kansas City, Missouri. Not satisfied with corporate life, Dale went to Colorado in 1977 to work for a fertilizer plant in Burlington and a COOP grain elevator in Kirk. In 1979, he moved his family back to Beloit, bought some land east of town and took over the family farm. In addition to farming, he worked for the Solomon Valley Post as an advertising salesman. Later, he went to work for the Waconda Trader when it began in 1993.

Dale was active in the community. He was a member of the former Optimist Club and served on the Chamber of Commerce as President as well as other committees.

Dale attended the Church of Christ his entire life. He served as an elder and was active in teaching classes and leading Bible studies.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dale is survived by his wife Ladeanna of the home; son Doug (Jill) Twaddell of Beloit; daughter Tanya Twaddell of Marietta, Georgia; five grandchildren Alyssa Twaddell of Lee's Summit, Missouri. Austin Twaddell of Camp Pendelton, California. Aubryn (Twaddell) and husband Michael Fenton of Lee's Summit, Missouri; Ayden Twaddell and Alijah Twaddell of Beloit; and countless relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the McDonald Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Highland Church Cemetery near Jamestown. Memorials may be given to the Beloit Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday at the McDonald Funeral Home.
