David William Waddell was born July 17, 1981, to Michael Raye Waddell and Sherris Elizabeth Kadel in Beloit, Kansas. He passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, in Salina, Kansas at the age of 38.
As a young boy, you could find David and his brother, Scott fishing down at the river and riding their bikes all over Beloit, KS delivering newspapers. They would often combine their earnings to buy the newest video consoles or games.
He enjoyed wrestling, hunting and shooting targets with family and friends. One of his favorite guns to shoot was Grandpa Gene's black powder pistol. He was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and would be happy to tell you why they were a better team than yours. He was a history and government buff and would always be open to a good debate. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Beloit, Kansas.
David's greatest love in life were his daughters, Allison and Lindsay Waddell. He enjoyed watching them become the smart, talented, big hearted and beautiful ladies they are. When they were little, he loved teaching them new things like gardening.
He was a skilled plumber and carpenter, always willing to help a friend in need when an emergency called. He loved listening to music and being outdoors.
David will be remembered for being a father, husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, friend and a protector to many. He had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh. He was caring and stubborn all at the same time. He had the true gift of empathy. He had the ability to see the positive virtues in everyone and touched so many people's lives. He will always be loved and in our hearts.
David was preceded in death by his brother Scott Waddell, father Mike Waddell, paternal grandparents Iris and Gene Waddell, uncle Richard Gary, uncle Steve Wrench, and aunt Linda Waddell.
