David Lynn Williamson was born on August 14, 1948 to Daniel Edward and Marian Evelyn Olson Williamson in Concordia, Kansas. He died on January 22, 2018 at his home in Round Rock, Texas. He grew up on a farm northwest of Glasco, Kansas and graduated from Glasco High School in 1966.
On December 17, 1974, he married Nancy Haapanen from Houston, Texas, and are the parents of a son, Lance Daniel. They have made their home in Texas.
David's career evolved through the world of telecommunications: Western Electric, Southwestern Bell, AT&T, Lucent, and finally his own company All-Tex Cabling.
Dave was a family man in every sense of the word. He and Nancy attended all family gatherings and celebrations. They enjoyed the beach house in Port Aransas and were generous in sharing with family and friends. The Sand Fest was one of the highlights of the year. He enjoyed fishing, joining family to salmon fish in Alaska and deep-sea fishing in the Florida Keys and many places in between. He was an avid fan of the Texas Longhorns.
David was preceded in death by his father, infant brothers James Daniel and Timothy, brothers Joe, Mike, and Ken, and sister Karen LaBarge.
He is survived by his wife Nancy and son Lance; his mother Evelyn of Glasco; siblings Mary Lavy of Glasco, Nancy Briggs of Parsons, Guy and wife Ione of Micanopy, FL, John of Kersey, CO, Barb Holste and husband Jerry of Manhattan, Kay Morse of Boise, ID, Jean Hogan and husband Bert of Leesburg, FL, Rob and wife Lorelei of Caldwell, ID, Kevin and wife Tracy of Halstead, Joyce Hood and husband John of Concordia, Ben of Leesburg, FL, and Linda Schmidt and husband Chad of Meriden; in-laws David LaBarge of Clovis, NM, Mick Williamson of Glasco, and Robert and wife Lil Haapanen of Liberty Hill, TX; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 3 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glasco. A rosary service will be at 5 PM Friday, February 2 with visitation following until 7 PM at the Church.St. Mary's Catholic Church
