Dawna Gay grew up on the family farm west of Randall. She attended school in Randall and graduated from Randall Rural High School with the class of 1949. After high school, Dawna Gay worked at the Randall Post Office.
On April 18, 1951 Dawna Gay was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Don Robinett, in her parents' home. To this union were born four children – Craig, Brian, Carla, and Colleen. They lived their entire life on a farm north of Randall where they celebrated 72 wonderful and happy years together.
She was baptized at an early age into the Christian Church, was a member of the First Christian Church in Beloit, and later the Jewell Christian Church. She was faithful in attendance and a willing worker in the church.
She was a 50-year member of Naomi Chapter No. 24 Order of the Eastern Star in Beloit. She first joined with the Bramwell Chapter at Randall in 1954, then Randall consolidated with Port Chapter No. 55 in Jewell and later Jewell went in with Beloit. Dawna was also a member of Social Order of Beauceant. In February 1972, she joined the Concordia Assembly No. 216 and later this group consolidated with Salina Assembly No. 229. Every month Dawna Gay looked forward to Beauceant meetings and having lunch with the ladies from the Concordia Assembly.
Dawna Gay took great pride in attending her children's and grandchildren's school activities and sporting events. She also enjoyed attending birthday parties for her great grandchildren. Dawna and Don especially looked forward to Christmas every year with their family.
