Deanna Larzalere

Deanna Larzalere, 78, of Glasco, KS, passed away on June 5th after a valiant 5-year battle with vascular dementia.

Deanna was born on July 2nd, 1941 to George and Irene Martin, in Glasco, KS. After graduating from Glasco High School, she attended business school in Salina KS. There she met Jack Larzalere, and they wed in December of 1961. They were happily married for 59 years. They had two children, Brent and Angela.

After having children, Deanna quit working. Deanna enjoyed being a homemaker and full-time mom and grandmother. Her family was the light of her life. She also enjoyed traveling, tennis and golf, as well as watching KU and Kansas City sports teams compete. Although not a natural athlete, she became a pretty salty golfer and tennis player, bringing home numerous tournament trophies.

Deanna is preceded in death by her parents George and Irene Martin and her brothers (Dick Martin, Denny Martin, Darrel Martin), sister in law Mary Martin, and brother and sister in law Bob and Patsy Jones.

She is survived by her husband Jack, brother Don Martin, brother in law Richard Larzalere, sisters in law (Dorothy Martin, Louise Martin, Betty Martin), her children Brent (spouse - Amy), Angela Nielsen (spouse - Oliver), grandchildren Hayden Nielsen and Reilli Nielsen, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Through the progression of her disease, Deanna never lost her spunky personality, love for diet coke, chocolate and all things junk food. Deanna is loved beyond measure, she will be missed, but will be with us always.

Memorial services will be at 11 AM Thursday, June 11 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glasco. A rosary service will take place at 10 AM Thursday at the Church. Cremation has taken place & there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or Dementia Society of America.
