Deanna Lynn Schroeder was born January 2, 1957 in Salina, Kansas, the daughter of Kenneth and Dolores Morgan Bean. She died Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit at the age of 62.
Deanna attended and graduated from Waconda East High School in 1975. Following graduation, she went into the nursing program at the Beloit Area Vo-Tech College, where she earned her RN degree. In 1980, she went to work at the Mitchell County Hospital. She greatly loved her job, and was a very devoted nurse until her health no longer permitted her to work, and she retired in June, 2019.
On April 6, 1974, she was married to Matt Schroeder, and four children were born to this union – Karma, Michelle, Brian, and Jason.
In her spare time, Deanna loved to read, crochet, knit, and quilt. She dearly loved her family, who was of great importance to her, and always enjoyed attending events and programs for her children and grandchildren. She was very kind and gentle-hearted, and always took care of everyone else above herself. And she cherished her personal relationship with Jesus Christ
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Deanna is survived by her husband, Matt of the home; daughters, Karma Beer and husband Mitchell of Hutchinson, and Michelle Lancaster and husband Roger of Manhattan; sons, Brian and wife Crystal of Great Bend, and Jason of Great Bend; seven grandchildren, Courtney and Caitlyn Kinser, Tarryn, Ryleigh, and Avery Lancaster, and Brendyn and Jadynce Schroeder; grandfather, Jim Hilburn of Hoxie; sister, Tracy Riffel and husband Greg of Valley Center; brother, Kenyen Bean and wife Theresa of Beloit; nephews, Erik and Travis Riffel; great-niece, Sydney Riffel; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Friday, July 26 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hunter. Visitation will be from 1-8 PM with family present from 6-8 PM Thursday, July 25 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Breast Friends Foundation or the Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation.
