Delycia K Mcblair

July 17, 1979 — August 13, 2020

Beloit

On Thursday, August 13, 2020, Delycia Kay McBlair, the loving mother of four children passed away at age 41. She courageously overcame many odds in her 3 ½ year battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer and can finally rest peacefully.

Delycia was born on July 17, 1979 in Loveland, Colorado.  She graduated from Beloit Jr.-Sr. High School in the spring of 1997.  She loved being a part of Varsity Voices, Singing Sensations, and the Drill Team in high school. She obtained a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 2001 from Fort Hays State University.  A few years down the road, Delycia followed a longtime passion by obtaining her cosmetology license. She was the proud co-owner of Tangles

Salon in Beloit.

Delycia has four beautiful children, Garrett Lane McBlair, Asher Lee Zimmer, Sawyer Cash Zimmer and Ellis Grace McBlair. Her four children were the absolute pride and joy of her life.

They were her first priority and love. She proudly attended every academic, sporting and

musical event that they participated in. Movie nights, game nights, and going on walks with her children were just a few of the simple but precious moments she enjoyed most. She also prioritized bringing joy to all of her family, friends, and any person she had the pleasure of meeting. She was a loving mother, loyal daughter, amazing sister, and proud aunt.

Delycia was so full of life. Her love for music and dancing carried on throughout her life.  She was a vocalist for many weddings and other events. It was not uncommon for her to break out in song at any moment. She also loved a good night out dancing with her sisters and girlfriends.  We will all carry fond memories of Delycia's beautiful voice and love for music.

Strong, bubbly, witty, kind hearted, and independent are just a few of the words we think of to describe Delycia. She always had a schedule, was organized, never complained, and didn't like to inconvenience others. Delycia was modest about her beauty, strengths, and successes. She had the most amazing smile and laugh. When Delycia laughed or smiled it was contagious and would brighten the entire room. Anyone who had the opportunity to meet and get to know Delycia, quickly realized that she was a unique and inspiring person. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Delycia is survived by her children; Garrett, Asher, Sawyer and Ellis, parents; Linda and Stan Odle, Doug and Sandy McBlair, siblings; David (Sherry) Paul, Troy (Carol) Paul, Tracy St. Clair, Troy (Nancy) Odle, Michael Robinson, Todd (Mandy) Odle, Julie (Burt) Polson, Mindy (Tim) Dunshie, Stacia (Chris) Brown, Robert (Gabriela) McBlair, DeAnna (Grant) Frost and Kaylynn Miller and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and host of great friends. She was preceded in death by grandparents; Roy and Verene McBlair, Marvin and Catherine Odle, Marjorie Martin, Fred and Oralee Pompeo, and nephews and niece; Nathaniel Blade Dee Grabast, Elijah Adam McBlair, and Bella Rose McBlair.
