Dennis Mcclellan

Dennis L. McClellan was born on November 9, 1952, to Bruce and Juanita (Warner) McClellan. Denny grew up on the family farm north of Glasco and graduated from Glasco High School in 1970. After studying agriculture at Cloud County Community College, he moved to Denver, CO and mastered the art of dry- walling. In 1978, Denny returned home and joined his dad in running the family farm. In addition to farming, he also worked at Lesco, Natural Gas Pipeline of America, Kansas Gas and continued his dry-walling trade.

On June 5, 1981, Denny married Rita Deneke and together they raised their children, Jody, Jesse and Jill. Denny loved taking his family on vacations and creating many memories. In later years, he enjoyed including his grandchildren on those vacations.

Denny was always a spectator at all of his kid's and grandkid's activities. He loved to grill and took great pride in that talent. Denny also enjoyed golfing, hunting with his son Jesse and best friend, Herb Fidler, and watching his beloved Jayhawks.

Denny is survived by his wife, Rita, of the home; children Jody (Adam) Vowinckel of Glen Elder, KS, Jesse (Christy) McClellan of Beloit, KS, step-daughter Jill Conaway of Smith Center, KS; sister, Linda Fisher of Hockley, TX, honorary brother, Herb (Denise) Fidler of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren Autumn Vowinckel, Austin Vowinckel, Remiah McClellan, Braxton McClellan, Ariana McClellan and Tucker Liby; other loving family members and many nieces and nephews. Denny is preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Juanita, brother in law, Ken Fisher, and nephews Troy McClellan and Chris McClellan.

Family-only memorial services will take place at a later date at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glasco. Cremation has taken place & there will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice, Glasco Golf Course, or Glasco Trap Club.
