Donald Motes, Jr.

Donald Laverne Motes, Jr. was born February 9, 1960, and died Saturday, December 5, 2020.

Don married Kathy Mallory in June 1986. They had three children, Thomas, Karey, and Timothy.

He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, Lexi, Emerson, Samantha, and Brittanie, and loved going fishing. He also liked going to family reunions so he could see all of his relations.

In 1999, he found out he had polycystic kidney disease, which led him to have dialysis.

Don worked for Icon Industries until 2009.

He was a loving husband, great father, loving son, wonderful brother, and a great grandfather. He liked helping others until his health wouldn't let him do so anymore. Don will always be loved and missed, but never forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his father Donald Motes, Sr.

Don is survived by his wife Kathy; their children, Thomas, Karey, and Timothy; his mother Maxine Motes; sisters, Ladonna Logan (Steve), Juanita Farns; one brother, Danny Motes (Cindy); and his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM Friday, December 11 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Funeral Expense Fund.
