Donald Slater White was born on January 3, 1935 in Beloit, Kansas, the son of Lyle and Martha Poulton White. He died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, Kansas at the age of 80 years, 11 months, and 6 days.
Donald grew up and attended school in Beloit, and enjoyed working on the farm with his father. He lived in Beloit until moving to Salina in the mid 1990's.
He loved being involved in conversations with others, and every day would walk to the shop, visiting with people along the way. He loved meal time, and would often eat anything that was prepared for him, and especially loved his ice cream.
Donald greatly enjoyed sports, and was always in attendance at Beloit High School games with his parents. He also loved his KU Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew Mark; and a special brother-in-law Gene.
Donald is survived by his sister, Martha Linton of Holyrood; two nieces, Susan Mehler and husband Jon of Ellsworth, and Shelley Rippen and husband Roger of Olathe; a nephew, Monte Linton and wife Angela of Great Bend; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Saturday, December 12 at the McDonald Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Albert House OCCK.
