Dorotha "Dottie" Ellen Harder, 96, passed away on June 6, 2025, at Hilltop Lodge Nursing Home in Beloit, Kansas.
She was born on May 13, 1929, to George and Erma (Eaton) Walford. Dorotha spent her life caring for others, working as a nurse aide in various nursing homes.
A talented sewer, quilter, and crocheter, Dottie poured love into every stitch, creating beautiful quilts, dolls, and keepsakes for many members of her family. Her creativity will always be remembered.
Dottie's family often joked about her cooking ability. Her saying was if it wasn't burnt, it wasn't done.". They lovingly appreciated meals with her, especially the ones enjoyed at restaurants.
Dottie is survived by her children: Glen Saunders, Darrel Choate (Teri), Patricia Chapman, Jack Gardner (Norma), Stephani Beattie, and Mary Fetters; her siblings Arlene Tolas and Patrick Walford; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Walford; her son-in-law, Steve Beattie; and grandson, Shane Miller.
No services are planned at this time. Her family finds comfort in the memories she left behind and the legacy of love and laughter she shared with them all.
