Dorothy A. Hamilton

April 2, 1936 — February 7, 2013

Dorothy Ann Hamilton was born April 2, 1936 to Wallace Pearl and Ruby Leota Chritton Henderson. She went to sleep in this life, joyfully waking up in Heaven at her home Thursday, February 8, 2013 at the age of 76 years.

Dorothy spent her childhood years growing up in Beloit. She loved school and graduated from Beloit High School.

She married Robert Allen Hamilton and to this union were born one daughter Janet, and two sons Kim and Dan.

Dorothy and her family moved around a lot as her husband was in the United States Navy. They eventually settled in Texas. Robert died in 1997, and in about 2005 she decided to return to her hometown of Beloit, Kansas where she enjoyed being close to her brother and sister.

A kind hearted person, Dorothy enjoyed homemaking and being there for her family and friends. She enjoyed her grandchildren immensely. She was an active member of First Christian Church and enjoyed being part of the church family. She had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. Dorothy was very loyal to her friends; she kept them for life. Besides reading, Dorothy loved to play cards, especially Liverpool Rummy, as well as watching "Murder She Wrote".

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Janet Hamilton, her husband Robert, and two sisters Norma Walters and Pat Leiker.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her children Kim Hamilton and wife Treaon of Burleson, Texas, Dan Hamilton of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister Tiny Moore, one brother Neil Torr and wife Gwen all of Beloit; four grandchildren Brittany, Amber, Paige, and Nathan Hamilton; a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Services will be held at 10 AM Monday at the McDonald Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be prior to the service. Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Charity of the Donor's Choice
