Douglas Allen Koster, 65, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the Salina Regional Hospital in Salina, Kansas. Doug was born October 29, 1958 in Beloit, Kansas to Mark H. and Janet J. (Barnett) Koster.

Doug, or Butch, as he was known, grew up in Cawker City and Beloit, and graduated from Beloit High School with the Class of 1977. He also attended the Beloit Vocational Technical School, where he received certification in bricklaying. Butch helped build many schools, hospitals, sidewalks, parking lots, and homes in the areas of Kansas City, Topeka, Wichita, Newton, and his hometown of Beloit. He never knew a stranger, and he loved children with his whole heart, as he was a big kid too. Butch was an avid hunter and fisherman, loving the outdoors.

Butch is survived by his son, Cory and wife Taisha; granddaughters, Zeppelin and Finnley of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; brothers, Ed of Hays, Kevin and wife Kathy of Valley Center, and Rick and wife Becky of Beloit; sisters, Lynn of Wichita, and Melanie and husband Craig of Grandview, Missouri. He is also survived by nephews, Dustin, Jerry, Brandon, Christopher, Nathan, and Derrick; and nieces, Heather, Natasha, Paige, Ariana, Madison, Mya, Olivia, Jada, Janiyah, and Emmy arriving in April 2024; along with many cousins.

Butch is preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Jan Koster.

Cremation has taken place & private family services will be held at a later date. The family asks for memorials to his Granddaughter's Education Fund in care of the funeral home.
