Edward L. Corpstein

Edward Louis Corpstein was born on January 3, 1935 in Tipton, Kansas, the son of Leo and Margaret Koenigsman Corpstein. He died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit at the age of 75 years, 3 months, and 19 days.
He grew up in the Tipton area and graduated from Tipton High School in 1954. Following graduation, he went to work for Kent Manufacturing for a few years before moving to Wichita, where he worked for Boeing.
Edward later served in the United States Army and spent some time in Korea.
In 1966, he moved to Guam to work construction for many years. He also spent a couple of years in Vietnam, where he worked on some civil engineering projects before returning to Guam for a few more years. In 1988, he returned to Tipton, where he owned and operated his own body repair shop.
Edward loved to fish and hunt, and enjoyed watching all kinds of sports. He was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Eugene.
Edward is survived by his three brothers, Robert and wife Barbara Corpstein of Tipton, Laverne and his wife Anna M. of Tipton, and Kenneth and his wife Karen of New Albany, Mississippi; two sisters, Marlene Corpstein of Wichita, and Bernice and her husband Ron Eilert of Beloit; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 26 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Tipton followed by burial in St. Boniface Cemetery. A parish vigil service will be at 7:00 PM Sunday at the Church. Memorials may be given to the Tipton Schools.
