Elena S. Snider, 57, of Greeley, CO passed away January 5, 2015 at Life Care Center of Greeley.
She was born November 17, 1957 in Beloit, Kansas to Veronica Ann and Harold Raymond Snider. Elena, with her family left Kansas in 1961 and moved to Greeley. She attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Special Help School in 1979.
Elena enjoyed bowling, movies, playing bingo and cards and fishing. She attended Easter Seal Handicamp each summer where she loved to ride horses. Elena competed in the Special Olympics where she won numerous medals and ribbons. She was a member of People First and Best Buddies. Music played a big part in her life and she enjoyed listening, dancing and singing along. Elena worked at Schaeffer Enterprises for 32 years and was always ready waiting for the bus to take her to work with a smile on her face. Elena enjoyed going to JB's, the mall and McDonald's with her mother Veronica. She loved her family and many friends and she loved going out with them. She touched many lives, and anyone who came in contact with her, their lives were forever changed. Elena's love came easy, and so love was easily returned by the people around her. Elena was one of God's angels and she will be greatly missed.
Elena is survived by her mother, Veronica Snider; sister, Sharon D. Benson; two brothers, Gary Snider and Patrick Snider; and nephew, Jeremy Benson all of Greeley.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Snider; brothers, Kevin Snider and Conrad Snider; and sister, Mary Kay Snider
Graveside services will be at 10 AM Saturday, January 10 at St. Boniface Cemetery in Tipton. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to Special Olympics of Northeast Colorado
