Elvin Ross Horn, the son of William and Lillian Warner Horn, was born November 10, 1935, on the family farm Northwest of Glasco, Kansas. He died May 14, 2010, at the Salina Regional Health Center after a brief illness.
Elvin grew up on the farm and attended the Glasco Schools., graduating from Glasco High School with the Class of 1954. He attended Brown-Mackie Business School and served in the US Army from 1958 to 1960.
He was united in marriage with Patricia Moran at Concordia, Kansas, and the couple lived on the family farm where he was born until 1999, when they moved to town. The couple had been privileged to spend nearly forty-five years of marriage together.
Elvin was an active member of the Glasco United Methodist Church and was also active in community affairs. He was a former mayor and councilman for the City of Glasco, and also served as a board member for the Glasco Housing Authority and the Cloud County Conservation District.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia of the home; a sister-in-law, Jackie White; a niece, Lisa Copeland; nephews, Jeffrey White and Douglas Horn and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Keith Horn.
Memorial Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Glasco United Methodist Church. Memorials may be given for the church or the American Heart Assoc. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time Tuesday at the church.
