Ethel Norma Congleton Noel, 94, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2015 in Minneapolis, Kansas.
She was born July 15, 1920 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Clarence and Madelyn Grant. She attended high school and earned an associate's degree at Notre Dame School in Baltimore.
She married Jean M. Noel on July 19, 1944 in Escondido, California, before Jean shipped out to serve in the United States Navy in World War II.
She was a homemaker. She and Jean enjoyed almost 58 years of marriage and enjoyed traveling, playing golf and socializing with their many friends. They made their home in Glasco, Kansas until retiring to Sedona, Arizona, in 1987. They later lived in Phoenix and Denver.
She was a competitive diver and also modeled, painted and knitted sweaters for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always glamorous, enjoyed shopping and wearing hats, but most all enjoyed anyone's company, being a hostess and playing bridge and games.
She was adored by her family, who cherished her for her sweet nature, big kisses and infectious sense of humor. Everyone had stores to share about Grammer. And for her, family was always her priority.
She loved the ocean but ended up in Kansas always considered Glasco home. She still made the best crab cakes and enjoyed eating out at "the Red Lobster."
She was preceded in death by her husband Jean, daughter-in-law Andy Jo Noel, and son-in-law Paul Weisenhorn.
She is survived by a sister, Lannie Newman of Moody, Alabama; two sons Jean M. Noel, Jr. of Fort Collins, Colorado and David Noel and wife Kathy of Sugar Camp, Wisconsin; one daughter Nancy Weisenhorn of Denver, Colorado; eight grandchildren Dia (and John) Montgomery, Chris Deanna) Noel, Lindsey (and Daniel) Beveridge, Carrie (and Brett) Richer, Sara Noel, Sam Noel, Amy Weisenhorn, & Jody; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 24, 2015 at First Christian Church with Rev. Shawn Baird officiating Interment of the ashes will be be private.
