Eugene L. Kadel was born to Frank Joseph and Lena Heller Kadel on June 25, 1913 on a family farm near Scottsville, Kansas. After a long life of 96 years, he passed away Thursday afternoon, August 6, 2009 at the Sunset Home in Concordia, Kansas.

Gene attended the Scottsville schools and later went on to graduate from the University of Kansas.
