Eugene K. Miller

Eugene Koch Miller was born December 21, 1917 in Hastings, Nebraska, the son of Peter H. and Martha Warren Miller. He died Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit at the age of 92 years, 5 months, and 28 days.
On July 16, 1939, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth R. Murray in Beloit. Two sons were born to this union.
For many years, he sold insurance, first with North Kansas Insurance and later with Reiter Insurance. He and Elizabeth were charter members of the Beloit Country Club, and he greatly enjoyed playing golf with friends during his spare time.
He also coached baseball for many summers, and loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting with his sons.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth in April; two brothers; and two sisters.
He is survived by two sons, Donald and his wife Kerri Jo of Carlsbad, California, and Dr. Mike and his wife Luann of Concordia, Kansas; four grandchildren, Debra Chelberg and her husband Scott of Carlsbad, Deron Miller of Phoenix, Jason Miller and his wife Linda of Portland, Oregon, and Garrett Miller and his wife Katie of Olathe; eight great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 24 at the Elmwood Cemetery in Beloit. Memorials may be given to the Glen Elder State Park. There will be no visitation.
