Eva Dorothy (Kelsey) Lorentz, age 98, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 24, 2008 at Pinnacle Park Care Center in Salina.

She was born May 12, 1909 to William and Freda Boche Kelsey at Norfolk, Nebraska.

It was on March 5, 1931 that she married Adrian Hall Lorentz at Salina, Kansas. They were privileged to celebrate 71 years of married life together.

Eva and her husband, who was affectionately known as "Babe" and "Whitey" were dedicated employees of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was a telephone operator, and he specialized in repairing the telephone wiring needs. They lived in a number of communities before being transferred to Beloit from Manhattan in 1948.

Besides work, Eva and Babe enjoyed the great outdoors. Together, they hunted and fished, not only locally but on their many travels throughout the USA.

Eva was a member of the Pioneers Club and the Ladies Elks.

Her beloved husband Adrian died on August 4, 2002. In addition, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters Lenora Heidebrecht, Mae "Tootie" Thompson, and Flora Maholland.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her sister Harriet Kliem of Salina; a niece Sandra Peterson of Salina; a nephew Lewis Kliem of Lawrence, and many cousins.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 30 at Elmwood Cemetery in Beloit. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Hospital or the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital.
