Evalee Fletchall

March 13, 1929 — June 8, 2017

EvaLee Peavey Fletchall passed away at age 88 Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Mitchell County Hospital. She was born March 13, 1929 at the home farm in the Victor area of rural Mitchell County, Kansas. She was the second of two daughters born to Everal A. and Enstena "Teeny" Diers Peavey.
She attended Pleasant Hill Rural School in Round Springs township through the eighth grade, after which the family moved to Beloit where she attended Beloit High School, graduating in 1946. She then moved to Columbia, MO, where she attended and graduated from Stephens College in 1948. EvaLee was then employed doing secretarial work in Kansas City, MO until she met her future husband, Eldred E. Fletchall.
The couple were united in marriage in Kansas City, MO October 26, 1950. After residing in Kansas City, Ed and EvaLee moved back to rural Mitchell County to temporarily help EvaLee's father at the Peavey Farm and Ranch. The temporary stay/visit turned into a sixty year family farm career.
Ed and EvaLee were blessed with four children: Carma Beth, Martin Earl, Andra Lou, and Seanna Sue.
She dedicated her life to her family and her faith. She was an avid gardener and talented seamstress also enjoying needlework of all types. Her family and friends especially enjoyed her simple but delicious comfort-food meals.
Throughout the years, she remained connected to extended family and lifelong friends in the community. As she raised her family, she was interested in her children's activities and looked forward to attending their events. She delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always thrilled for family visits. She was a member of First Christian Church, Beloit, KS, where she enjoyed participating in service and Bible studies. She spent many happy hours with her quilting group where they turned out many beautiful quilts and appreciated all of the meaningful fellowship. EvaLee was a faithful wife and constant companion to Ed for sixty years until Ed's death in December 2010.
She otherwise preceded in death by her parents, Everal and Enstena Peavey and sister Charlotte File, all of Beloit. Left to mourn her passing are her children Carma McDowell of Mobile, AL, Marty Fletchall of rural Beloit, Andra Floyd of Nacogdoches, TX, and Seanna Pitsch of Fort Smith, AR, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of many relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Tuesday, June 13 at the Beloit First Christian Church. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday, June 12 at the Church. Memorials may be given to the Church or the Carol Tolbert Missions Fund.
