Frances M. Mosher-Webster

November 29, 1918 — June 26, 2007

Frances Marie Henning Mosher Webster, age 88, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the family farm on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, with her sisters and children at her side. She was a lifetime Glasco area resident.
Born on November 29, 1918, at her home in southern Cloud County to William Carl Fredrick and Eva Estella Studt Henning, she attended the Welcome Country School and graduated from Glasco High School in 1938. She finished normal school training and taught in country schools for several years.
On July 16, 1944, she was united in marriage to Harvey George Mosher. Shortly after their marriage, Harvey was drafted into the Army. Frances traveled with him to Little Rock, Arkansas before he went overseas. On his return, they moved to Lamar, Colorado, and later returned to the family farm northwest of Glasco, where they raised three daughters and one son. Frances was a homemaker and continued her interest in Mosher Farm and Cattle Company after Harvey's death in 1970.
On April 6, 1973, Frances was united in marriage to Harry Gresham Webster. They lived on the farm nearly three years before moving to Glasco.
Frances was a lifetime and active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and served as a Sunday School teacher. In later years, she particularly enjoyed attending church and then arriving ahead of the Methodists and Christians at the Pepper Pot for lunch with family and friends. She participated in the Lutheran Ladies Aide and the Rebecca Circle. Other memberships included the VFW Auxiliary, Helpmates Club, Chit Chat Club, and she was a 4-H Community Leader.
She was admired for her ready smile, peaceable attitude, and cooking and bread making, especially her cinnamon and Parkerhouse rolls. Frances enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening, card parties, word search puzzles, family gatherings, and most of all, her grandchildren. She loved to crochet and gave away many doilies and pot scrubbers to family, friends, and fundraisers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Harvey; her daughter, Donna; two brothers, Wilfred and Marvin; one sister, Dorothy; and one grandson, Travis Webster.
Frances is survived by her husband Harry; two daughters, Shirley and her husband James Masterson of Glasco, and Karen and her husband Tom Brosius of Manhattan; one son, Dan Mosher and his wife Eva of Wichita; one step-son, Larry Webster and his wife Ruth of Winnemucca, NV; six granddaughters, Carisa and husband Shon Wilson, Ali and husband Matt Goss, Lacey Acker, Bethany Masterson, Andra and husband Aaron Schroeder, and LeAnn Winter; three grandsons, Joe and wife Amy Mosher, Kevin Mosher, and Toby Webster; three great grandsons, Cale, Elias, and Abram Goss; two step great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Cross and Justin Gilbreath; three sisters, Marjorie Tobald of Glasco, Helen Cain of Los Gatos, CA, and Norma and husband Keat Pounds of Colorado Springs; nieces and nephews; and numerous relatives and friends
