Frances Oetting

Frances Reba Kadel Oetting was born February 26, 1935 to C. Frank and Reba Lillian Patterson Kadel on the family farm. She died Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the Resident Care Center in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 85.

She grew up on the farm near Round Springs Cemetery and Church, and later graduated from Beloit High School.

She married Elton F. Oetting on November 13, 1954. They lived on a farm, and raised four children near Victor, Kansas.

In addition to being a farm wife, she also worked as a CNA, and also in the insurance industry for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, James Swartzman; brother-in-law, Marcellus Weber; and ex-husband, Elton.

Frances is survived by her children, Nolta E. Swartzman of Hays, Nancy J. Gasche (Gregg) of Hartford, Kansas, Jerry A. Oetting (Phyllis) of Beloit, and Brenda M. Brown (Lester) of Newton; her sister, Winnie Mae Weber of Beloit; grandchildren, Adam Gasche (Micheal) of Allen, KS, Bart Gasche of Golden City, MO, Tanya Gasche Jacobucci (Justin) of Derby, KS, Emily Oetting Winsor (Ben) of Perry, KS, Blake Oetting (Julie) of Oklahoma City, Zane Swartzman (Amanda) of Hays, Ethan Swartzman (Hope) of Dodge City, Bridget Brown Cook (Tate) of Wakeeney, Lacey J. Brown Burgess (Jason) of Moundridge, Lance M. Brown of Moundridge; 22 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Saturday, March 14 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home followed by burial in Round Springs Cemetery near Hunter. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM with family present from 5-7 PM Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Resident Care Center or Perdue House.
