Frank Elmer Hiserote was born to Virgil Elmer and Elsie Ruby Srna Hiserote on February 14, 1942 in the same home where he lived his entire life. He departed this life of 67 years on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Mitchell County Hospital, Beloit, Kansas, surrounded by his family.
Frank was the third child of a family of eight children. Due to the serious illness of his father, Frank, at age 14, began working with his father in the family trucking business and sacrificed his high school education. Frank took over the business in 1969, providing for his younger siblings and his mother until her death in 1999.
In 1975, Frank purchased his first trash truck, focusing entirely on commercial trash removal. His brother Forrest joined the business shortly thereafter, and together they made a great team.
Frank took pride in his work and customer satisfaction was of the utmost importance; each customer was as important as the next.
A man of a few words, Frank was known and respected for his honesty, hard work and dependability. He supported his community by donating time and services in support of various events.
Although never married, Frank was truly a family man. He devoted his life to his mother, siblings and their families. He took pride in individual accomplishments, attending musical concerts, plays, graduations and holiday events. He served as a significant role model to his nephew Jamie and was proud when Jamie became a partner in the Hiserote Trash business.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Merle Hiserote, two brothers-in-law, and a nephew.
Left to mourn Frank's passing and celebrate his life are his brother Forrest Hiserote, Beloit; five sisters Doris Schramek, Beloit, Mildred Ross and husband Larry of Aurora, Colorado, Mary Jane Gomel and husband Doug of Beverly, Kansas, Frances Jean Harman and husband Pat of Beloit, Dee Ann Vogan and husband Chuck of Junction City, Kansas; 19 nieces & nephews, 33 great nieces and nephews; a host of relatives, friends, and satisfied customers.
