Gary G. Debey

Gary Gene DeBey was born on October 16, 1947 in Beloit, Kansas, the son of Gene and Thelma Fenton DeBey. He died on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at the Downs Care and Rehab Center in Downs, Kansas at the age of 75.

He grew up in the Mitchell County area, where he attended schools. Following high school, he attended Ft. Hays State before entering the military, serving in the United States Navy.

Gary returned to Mitchell County, where he farmed near Cawker City. He greatly enjoyed his farming, hunting, fishing, traveling with family, as well as amateur radio. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #379, as well as the USS Wainwright Veterans Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gary is survived by his wife Linda of the home; son, Grant and wife Nikki of Cawker City; brother, Wayne of Salina; sister, Mary Beth of Clay Center; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 10 AM Monday, December 19 at the Prairie Grove Cemetery in Cawker City. Visitation will be from 3-5 PM Sunday, December 18 at the Waconda Funeral Chapel in Cawker City.
