After graduating from high school in Miltonville, Kansas, Gary proudly joined the Airforce, serving for four years as an aircraft maintenance specialist. His military service was a significant part of his identity, and he often spoke with pride about his time in the Airforce.
Upon returning to civilian life, Gary settled in Miltonville, where he served as a municipal judge for six years. This role showcased his commitment to his community before he decided to explore new paths. He relocated to Edson, Kansas, where he embraced a rural lifestyle, raising sheep on a farmstead. For nearly three decades, he was also a part owner in a pest control business in Goodland, Kansas, before his eventual retirement.
Gary's passion for nature led him to Idaho for six years, where he thrived doing what he loved—hunting, trapping, and logging during the different seasons. His adventurous spirit brought him back to Hunter in 2010, a place with deep family roots, where he continued to share stories of his remarkable life.
He cherished gardening and had a keen interest in politics, often engaging others in spirited discussions. Gary's adventurous youth included rodeo activities, which he relished fondly, recalling the time he forged an ID to participate.
Gary was a proud fireman and an emergency medical services (EMS) provider, accomplishments that underscored his dedication to helping others. He was known for his genuine love for the outdoors, spending countless hours hunting, trapping, and fishing.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry Sigle, whom he married on April 11, 2025, after both had faced profound loss in their previous marriages. He leaves behind a legacy through his daughter, Melissa Sigle of Hunter, and son, Jeff Sigle of California. He is also survived by his siblings: Lillian Moen (Leonard) of Washington State, Dean Sigle (Mary) of Mississippi, and Roger Sigle (Toni) of Washington State.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Glennis Sigle (Romane), whom he was married to for 53 years until her passing on July 28, 2024. Gary was also preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Joyce Sigle (Ensign).
