George Theodore Bennett Bell of Beloit, KS, died Monday, June 22, 2009. George was born on June 27, 1923 in Lebanon, KS to Harry Nelson Bell and Mabel Anna Sarah Chor.
George served his country in the United States Marine Corp during WWII and the Korean War flying Corsairs and Jets, and retired as Lieutenant Colonel after 27 years.
George was a farmer and stockman and lived on a farm east of Beloit. George married Joyce Aileen Korbelik on August 1, 1950 in Superior, NE. Six children were born to this union, Nelson Edward Bell, Deborah Janiece Bell, Janet Sue Bell, Bennett Lee Bell, Sandra Kay (Bell) Budke, and Julie Ann (Bell) Parker.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his daughter Janet and son Nelson.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce of the home, children Debby, Bennett, Sandy, and Julie, all of Beloit, twin sisters, Eva Mendenhall and Neva Litton of Beloit, four grandchildren, LeAnn Budke, Marissa Budke, Brandy Bell and Derek Bell, all of Beloit.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, June 26 at the McDonald Funeral Home. There will be no visitation - the body has benn cremated. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice
