A lifetime farmer, Harold worked side-by-side with his father, and then with his wife and two sons until he retired. He excelled as a carpenter and a gardener. An avid hunter, fisherman and outdoor enthusiast, he was especially fond of the many related trips he took deep into the Rocky Mountains and the wilds of the Canadian Northwest Territories.
