Ila Fern Albert, daughter of Harry Leslie and Arlita Cornelia Muck Kohler, was born January 2, 1921 in Cawker City, Kansas. She departed this life of 88 years, 2 months, and 13 days on Sunday, March 15, 2009 in Raymore, Missouri.

Ila Fern attended Excelsior Grade School and graduated from Glen Elder High School in 1939. She married Quentin L. Albert in Salina, Kansas on June 22, 1940. They lived many years in Wichita, Kansas where they raised their two sons. They moved to Pueblo, Colorado in 1961 where she worked as a secretary for the Pueblo Labor Board until she retired in 1987.

After retiring, Ila Fern and Quentin enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening and visiting with family and friends. Ila loved flowers and enjoyed visiting gardens wherever they went.

Ila Fern was preceded in death by her husband Quentin, her parents, and one brother Lendon Kohler.

She is survived by her sons Larry Albert and wife Noel of Peculiar, Missouri, Lee Albert and wife Anita of South Fork, Colorado; five grandchildren Danelle Henderson, Dustin Albert, Jennifer Smith, Jeffrey Albert and Jason Albert; seven great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother Keith Kohler of Homer, Alaska; and two sisters Betty Drake of Gainesville, Florida, and Kathleen Graber of Wichita, Kansas.

A brief service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M. Saturday. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery with Pastor Cal Swickard officiating. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
