Irene Kathryn Heidrick was born December 12, 1914 to Joseph and Mary Budke Krone in Delphos, Kansas. She departed this life of 93 years, two months and four days early Saturday morning, February 16, 2008 at the Mitchell County Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Beloit, Kansas.
Irene was the fourth of nine children and moved with her family to a farm east of Beloit in 1929. She graduated from Delphos Grade School and St. John's High School.
On June 8, 1936, she was united in marriage to Eugene (Jack) Heidrick and to this union were born four children Ronald, Janet, David, and Patricia. Eugene passed away on July 20, 1983. After her marriage she and her family lived on a farm southwest of Beloit until 1957 when they moved to town. Irene worked for J.M. McDonald's Department Store and The Mill Street Emporium for 23 years.
Irene loved her family and her Church. She will be remembered by her family for her delicious Sunday morning rolls and coffee and Wednesday's fried chicken as well as her lively political discussions. She always had the last word and won every discussion.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and was a very devoted Catholic. Irene was a member of the Ladies Guild and The Queen City Red Hat Mamma's at the Long Term Care.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, son Ronald, grandchildren Kimberly Kay Snedden and Tony Joel Heidrick; brothers Art, Paul, Larry, Joe, Arnold, and Raymond Krone, and sisters Martha Krone and Agnes Scally.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her daughters Janet Snedden and friend Miles File, Patricia Isbell and husband Dennis all of Beloit, one son David Heidrick and wife Jane of Salina; sisters-in-law Rusty Krone of Jamestown and Ronalda Krone of Concordia; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one great great grandson; many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church by Fathers Joseph Kieffer and Larry Grennan. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. John's Memorial Trust Fund or the Mitchell County Hospital Long Term Care Unit Activity Fund. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the McDonald Funeral Home where the Parish Vigil Service will be held at 6:00 P.M.
