James "Jim" M. Kjellberg

James Marshall Kjellberg was born on April 18, 1937 in Axtell, Kansas, the son of Marshall V. and Dorothy Lee Ward Kjellberg. He died on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the Mitchell County Hospital at the age of 77 years, 5 months, and 3 days.
Jim grew up on the family farm, and worked on the farm while his father worked on the railroad. He attended a one-room schoolhouse, and rode to school on horseback. He later went on to graduate from high school.
From August 1956 through June 1960, Jim served his country in the United State Air Force, and spent time in Washington state, and in Alaska.
Throughout his lifetime, he also lived in several Kansas towns including Concordia, Downs, Home, and later Beloit.
Jim spent most of his adult life as a truck driver, and finally retired from Farmway COOP after many years of service. He also loved camping and going fishing, as well as vacationing in Minnesota.
On December 13, 1975, he was united in marriage with Dolores. They were privileged to spend 32 years of marriage together until her death in December 2007.
He married Phyllis (Shadoan, Anderson) Miller on June 19, 2010, and they enjoyed more than four years of marriage.
In addition to his wife Dolores, he was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Janice Bigham.
Jim is survived by his wife Phyllis; one daughter, Marcia Demuth and her husband Gary of Salina; two sons, Troy and his wife Angie of Beloit, and Justin and his girlfriend Amy of Concordia; five stepchildren, Deanna Schroeder and her husband Matt of Hunter, Tracy Riffel and her husband Greg of Valley Center, Kenyen Bean of Beloit, Jennifer Cody and her husband Charles of Beloit, and Michael Anderson and his wife Dawn of Beloit; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Ron and his wife Alice of Home; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was a devoted father, husband, and family man, and will be missed.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, September 26 at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Beloit, followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM Thursday with family present from 6-7:30 PM at McDonald Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Chautauqua Isle of Lights or the Beloit High School Booster Club.
