James "Jim" Theodore Eilert was born July 11, 1951 in Beloit, Kansas. He passed away July 14, 2017 at the Mitchell County Hospital at the age of 66. Jim was the son of Harold and Ernestine (Mick) Eilert.
Jim grew up in Beloit and graduated from Beloit High School in 1969. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Agronomy from Kansas State University. He was a bank president, loan officer and sold real estate. Jim enjoyed his work and the relationships that he made during those years. He made many friends and was fond of several classmates that he had kept in touch with. His mother, Ernestine, was always appreciative of his many visits and the personal chauffer service that he often provided for her. His siblings would describe him as a dependable, competitive and fun loving brother with a chuckle that would engage everyone in the room.
He had several hobbies with his favorites being gardening, mowing, fishing and golfing. He did many things well, but none better than being a dad and a papa. He always put his family first. He loved raising his three sons in the Osborne community. His grandchildren were the greatest joy of his life. He was anxious to welcome his tenth grandchild, Tristan Theodore Reece Eilert, who arrived into this world just hours after Jim passed.
Jim is survived by his mother, Ernestine Mick of Beloit, KS; sons, Jason (Danielle) of Topeka, KS; Judd (Hanna) of Osborne, KS; and Joshua (Brandi) of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren, Jalen, Raya, Jacob and Mason; Klaire, Liam and Ivy; and Brendan, Emri and Tristan; siblings, Steve (Sandy) Eilert of Sedgwick, KS; John (Sharon) Eilert of Beloit, KS; Larry (Karen) Eilert of Wichita, KS; Jan Marks of Manhattan, KS; Melvin (Carlene) Eilert of Beloit, KS; Becky (Bill) Braley of Manhattan, KS; Marti (Wayne) McElroy of Randall, KS; Judy (Bob) Tracy of Wichita, KS; and Ted (Sabra) Eilert of Derby, KS; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold, a step-father, Frowin Mick and a brother-in-law, Michael Marks.
