Janice Kathleen (Mosier) Bulthaup, 96, formerly of Beloit, KS passed away Saturday April 8, 2017 at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor in Clay Center, KS.
Janice Kathleen Mosier was born September 10, 1920 to Cleo Harry Mosier and Anna Mildred (Sorrell) Mosier. She was a cheerleader at Athens Rural High School and graduated in 1938.
On November 17, 1940 she was united in marriage to Ernest Lewis Bulthaup at the Zion Lutheran Church in Beloit, KS. This union was blessed with four children Sharon, Peggy, Mary and Stan.
Janice was a homemaker in the early years of marriage; she worked at the Coop Food Store and then worked as a book keeper for the Gamble store. In her later years she worked as a caregiver at Woodland Heights.
She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. Getting visits from her great grandchildren brought her great joy. She also loved gardening and quilting. She made all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren a special unique quilt.
Janice was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Beloit. In addition she was proud to be a member of the Daughters of Rebekah Lodge.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband Ernest L. Bulthaup and her eldest daughter Sharon K. Weiner.
Left to mourn her passing are Daughters Peggy Brown of Houston, TX; Mary Pernell of Wichita, KS; Son Stan Bulthaup of Beloit, KS; Eight grandchildren Greg Shuflat of Wichita, KS; Chandra Shuflat of Phoenix, AZ; Shannon and Shane Brown of Houston, TX; Carla Roush of Wichita; Tiffany Wisdom of Wichita; Jeremy Bulthaup Murrieta, CA; Rita Speltz (Brent) of Clay Center and also many great and great- great grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, April 17, at 11:00AM at the Elmwood Cemetery in Beloit. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 16 from 5PM until 7PM with family present at the McDonald Funeral Home. Memorials are to the Solomon Valley Hospice or the Zion Lutheran Church.
